Middle East Matters is a youth-led nonprofit advocacy platform working to advance human rights, justice, and accountability across the Middle East. We amplify stories and voices too often overlooked by mainstream English-language media and provide a platform for activists, writers, and advocates from the region to speak for themselves, document the realities of their communities, and bring their experiences to a wider audience.
Connecting Struggles, Building Solidarity
At the heart of our work is the belief that, despite our different countries, cultures, and experiences, people across the Middle East have far more in common than we often realize. The struggles for freedom, dignity, equality, and justice are deeply interconnected, and the fight for human rights does not stop at borders.
Through storytelling, advocacy, and community, we seek to build bridges across borders, foster solidarity between movements and communities, and remind one another that our struggles are not isolated. We are stronger when we stand together.
Our work is guided by three principles: Amplify. Advocate. Assist. We amplify voices that deserve to be heard, advocate for human rights and accountability, and assist those working to create meaningful change in their communities.

We welcome pitches from activists, writers, researchers, journalists, students, and others with stories, perspectives, and ideas that deserve a wider audience. We especially encourage contributors from across the Middle East and its diaspora to share firsthand perspectives, analysis, personal narratives, and stories from their communities.
